§ 58-19. Assault or intimidation on account of political opinions or exercise of civil rights.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to assault or intimidate any citizen because of political opinions or the exercise of political rights and privileges guaranteed to every citizen of the United States by the Constitution and laws thereof or by the Constitution and laws of this state or, for such reason to discharge such citizen from employment or occupation or eject such citizen from a rented house or land or other property.

    (b)

    Anyone found in violation of this section shall be subject to punishment as provided in section 1-12.
